At Apex Physical Therapy & Wellness, we strive to provide highly individualized, hands on approach to therapy to allow for optimization of treatment. We believe everyone is different and require personalized treatment to enhance their recovery. Upon arrival , patient will undergo an examination and develop a plan of care that promotes movement, reduces pain, restores function, and prevents disability. 

The patient examination includes, but is not limited to, testing of muscle function, strength, joint flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, respiration, skin integrity, motor function, quality of life, and activities of daily living. 

We work with the patient, family members, and other health care providers to ensure the goals of the plan of care are met and the patient outcomes are optimal.

Physical Therapy Techniques

  • Myofascial Release – used to treat chronic pain; hands on technique that involves applying gentle pressure into the myofascial connective tissue.

  • Muscle Energy Techniques – a form of soft tissue mobilization which is a direct and active technique,most commonly used to lengthen muscular tissue.

  • Soft Tissue Massage/Mobilization – utilized to release trigger points or spasmed muscles.

  • Joint Mobilization – manual technique used to restore the proper movements within joints

  • Spinal Mobilization – specific mobilization techniques for the vertebrae of the spine which are used to restore proper motion between spinal segments

  • Manual Traction – Hands on technique to apply traction force on the spine, creating a negative pressure gradient on the intervertebral disc; used to help herniated disc, degenerative disc disease and pinched nerves.

  • Dynamic/Static Stretching – all forms of stretching to the soft tissue and muscles of the body tom improve overall movement without restricting the body's range of motion.

  • Taping Techniques – rehabilitative taping technique to provide support and stability to muscles and joints  

  • Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization – handheld tools created to increase blood flow and break up restrictions deep inside injured soft tissue.
